Road Safety

Road Safety is your responsibility It doesn’t happen by accident

What You Should Do if You Have an Accident:

  • If you are involved in, or witness a traffic accident and there is danger, serious injuries or life-threatening concerns, telephone 000
  • If drivable and safe to do so, ensure all vehicles are moved from the roadway promptly and activate the hazard warning lights immediately
  • All persons should leave the vehicle and move from the roadway and remain a safe distance from the road verge
  • Ensure everyone’s safety at all times
  • Check all parties for any injuries remembering police must be notified if a person is injured
  • Do not leave the scene of the accident under any circumstances
  • Obtain insurance details from the other driver(s) involved in the collision
  • Record details of any independent witnesses (not applicable for minor damage)
  • Call AAAC Towing Pty Ltd and a collection vehicle will be allocated to the accident scene.
  • Ask the driver to see his/her identification and registration
  • Remove all possessions and valuables from the vehicle

We recommend that you arrange for your vehicle to be professionally removed from the scene of an accident as there may be non-apparent damage to your vehicle. Driving from an accident scene in an un-roadworthy vehicle is an offence. Furthermore, this may void your insurance policy should you be involved in a further accident as a result.
